From the previous Lessons
we've learned the following teachings from the Prophets
Moses and Isaiah to the Lord Jesus and His Apostles about
the "only true God".
- The Lord our God is
absolutely and perfectly One (Lesson-2I)
- The Only True God is the
Father in heaven (Lesson-2J)
- God is a Spirit; God is
Almighty; God is the Creator of all things; God is
Eternal, Immortal and Invisible; . . . . (Lesson-2K)
Let us continue our
study of the scriptures so we may come to know if the God
and Father of Christ Jesus and His
Apostles is the same God and Father of the Ancient
Israelites from the Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, Jacob to the
Prophets Moses, Isaiah and Malachi.
2L.1
How can we be sure that Jesus indeed taught what Moses and
the prophets taught during their time?
In the Mathew 5:17-18,
Jesus made the following declaration, so He cannot be
misunderstood;
17.
"Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not
come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of
the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them.
18. I assure you, until heaven and earth disappear,
even the smallest detail of God's law will remain
until its purpose is achieved. (NLT)
Jesus did not came to
abolish or to do away with the laws and teachings of
Moses and the prophets, but He came to reassure and
fulfill God's laws and teachings until its purpose is
achieved.
For this reason, Jesus
even issued a warning to those who may break or change
the smallest commandment. In verse 19, this is
written:
19.
So if you break the smallest commandment and teach
others to do the same, you will be the least in the
Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God's laws
and teaches them will be great in the Kingdom of
Heaven. (Mathew 5:19, NLT)
Thus, we can be
certain, that when Christ came to earth for the first
time, He also taught what Moses and the prophets taught
about God's laws and teachings.
2L.2
What is the scriptural proof that the Lord Jesus Christ
indeed taught what Moses taught about God during the ancient
times?
The
Prophet Moses, was commanded by the Lord God to teach
His foremost commandment to the people of Israel in
ancient times;
"Hear, O
Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your
heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.
(Deuteronomy 6:4-5,NKJV)
And
Moses also said this to the people of Israel:
Is
this the way you repay the Lord, you foolish and
senseless people? Isn't he your Father who
created you? Has he not made you and
established you? (Deuteronomy 32:6, NLT)
The Lord
Jesus Christ, also said these things to the people in
answer to the question, "Which is the first commandment
of all?''
29.
Jesus answered him, "The first of all the
commandments is: `Hear, O Israel, the Lord our
God, the Lord is one.
30. `And you shall love the Lord your God with all
your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind,
and with all your strength.' This is the first
commandment. (Mark 12:29-30, NKJV)
And
Jesus also said these things when He prayed to the
Father in heaven:
1
After Jesus finished saying this, he looked up
to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has
come. Give glory to your Son, so that the Son
may give glory to you. 3 And eternal
life means to know you, the only true God,
and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent. (John
17:1 & 3, Today's English Version)
It is
indeed proven by the Holy Scriptures that first and
foremost of God's commandment taught by the Prophet
Moses is exactly the same as the "first commandment of
all" as taught by the Lord Jesus Christ. And this is,
"The Lord our God, the Lord is one!" "You shall love the
Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul,
and with all your might."
And
who is the Lord our God, who is one? , according to
Moses and Jesus?
- According to the
Prophet Moses, "Isn't he your Father who created
you"?
- According to the
Lord Jesus Christ, "Father, and eternal life means
to know you, the only true God"
Clearly,
as written in the Holy Scriptures, and as taught by the
Prophet Moses and the Lord Jesus Christ, "The only true
God is the Father in heaven"
2L.3
What
is the scriptural proof that the Lord Jesus Christ and His
Apostles, also indeed taught what the Prophets Isaiah and
Malachi taught about God during the ancient times?
The
Prophet Isaiah and Prophet Malachi declared and wrote
these things about "God, the Father" during the time of
the Prophets in ancient Israel;
4.For since the beginning of the world men
have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the
eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one
who waits for Him. 8. But now, O Lord, You are
our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter;
and all we are the work of Your hand. (Isaiah
64:4&8, NKJV)
Have
we not all one Father? Has not one God create us?
Why do we deal treacherously with one another by
profaning the covenant of the fathers (Malachi 2:10,
NKJV)
The Apostles Paul, John and Peter, wrote these things
about "God, the Father" during the first century of the
Christian Era;
But we
know that there is only one God, the Father, who
created everything, and we exist for him. And
there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom
God made everything and through whom we have been
given life. (1 Corinthians 8:6, NLT)
4. We
are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we
have all been called to the same glorious future.
5. There is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6. and there is only one God and Father, who
is over us all and in us all and living through us
all. (Ephesians 4:4-6, NLT)
Undoubtedly, the
God and Father of the Prophets Isaiah and Malachi during
the time of the prophets in ancient Israel is the same
God and Father of the Apostles during the first century
of the Christian Era.
2L.4
What are the scriptural proofs that the
God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the God of the Israeli
ancestors is indeed the same God as that of the Lord Jesus Christ
and His Apostles?
In Acts
3:13, this is written:
For it
is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God
of Jacob, the God of all our ancestors who has
brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing
this. This is the same Jesus whom you handed over
and rejected before Pilate, despite Pilate's
decision to release him. (NLT)
Apostle
Peter and John said these things to the people, "For it
is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of
Jacob, the God of all our ancestors who has brought
glory to his servant Jesus". Please take note that Jesus
is mentioned in the verse as a "servant of God" not "God
the Son". Thus, it
is very clear that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is
also the God of the Lord Jesus and His Apostles.
Is Jesus indeed a
servant of God?
In the following verses
these are written:
But
I have testimony greater than John's. The
works that the Father gave me to accomplish,
these works that I perform testify on my behalf
that the Father has sent me. Moreover,
the Father who sent me has testified on my
behalf. But you have never heard his voice nor
seen his form, (John 5:36-37, NAB)
"Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is
not greater than his master; nor is he who is
sent greater than he who sent him. (John
13:16, NKJV)
Yes indeed, the Apostles
are right in saying that Jesus is a servant of God
because
Jesus was sent by God to do the works that the Father
gave Him to accomplish. Another proof that Jesus is indeed a servant
of God is because God who sent Him is greater than Him.
As
a servant of the God
of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob and the God of the
Israeli ancestors, did the Lord Jesus
Christ Himself recognize the Father in heaven as His
Father and His God?
In John
20:17, Jesus Himself said this to Mary Magdalene
after He was just resurrected from the dead:
Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I
have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My
brethren and say to them, `I am ascending
to My Father and your Father, and to My God and
your God.' '' (NKJV)
From the
foregoing
verses, it is scripturally proven that the God of
Abraham,
God of Isaac, the God of Jacob
and the God of the Israeli ancestors is indeed the same God
and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles.

The Trinity doctrine
states that God is the Triune God, existing as three
persons, but one being.
Members of the Trinity are said to be co-equal and co-eternal, one in essence,
nature, power, action, and will. (Lesson-2C.1)
-
If Jesus is
indeed "God the Son" who is said to
be co-equal and one in power, action
and will with "God the Father" in
the Trinity, then . . . . . .
-
Why did
the Apostles called Jesus a servant
of the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob
and all the Israeli ancestors?
-
How
could God the Son be a servant
of God the Father if they are
one Triune God.
-
Why
did Jesus recognize the Father in
heaven as His Father and
His God?
-
How can they be one Triune God
if God the Father is greater
than God the Son?

______________
The belief that the "Only True
God is the Father in heaven, the Almighty, the creator of
all things", is the belief of "the people of God" since the
ancient time of Abraham, and the prophets, is the same belief
that continued to
the time of Jesus and His Apostles in the first century of
the Christian era. This belief is proven by the clear verses of
the Old and New Testament of the Holy Bible as shown in the
above lesson. THEREFORE, the God of the Patriarch Abraham, the
God of Isaac, the God of Jacob; and the God of the
Prophets Moses, Isaiah, Malachi and the God of the
Israeli ancestors is the absolutely the
same God, as the God of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Apostles
and His disciples.
