In many different ways and situations, people who experience God's calling develops the desire to listen to His words. There are four group of people who will be attracted to listen to God's "word of the kingdom". But, to the many who will listen to God's "word of the kingdom" only the few who will truly understand the message will be chosen. To the chosen one's the message is clear and meaningful to them, so they are brought to repentance and develop faith in God and Christ Jesus. The chosen one's will then be brought by God into the  fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ, which will ultimately lead to a union with Christ in the "one body", who's head is Christ, so that they can be saved and given "Crown of Life" –the Eternal Life in heaven. Let us therefore continue our study of the scriptures so we will come to know and fully understand what is God's word of the kingdom.

God's word or Message is the Good News or Gospel of the Kingdom

1E.1   During His ministry here on earth, what did the Lord Jesus Christ teach and preach?

In the following verses, these are written:

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. (Matthew 9:35, NKJV)

Jesus traveled throughout Galilee teaching in the synagogues, preaching everywhere the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed people who had every kind of sickness and disease. (Matthew 4:23, NLT)

but He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.'' (Luke 4:43, NKJV)

Jesus taught and preached God's words or Message, that is the Good News or the Gospel of the kingdom of God.

Why did Jesus preach the Good News or Gospel of the Kingdom of God?

Because this is the very purpose why God sent Him.

The Gospel of the kingdom is the Gospel of Christ

1E.2  How did Apostle Paul aptly describe the Gospel of kingdom of God that he preached to the early Christians?

In Galatians 1: 11-12, Apostle Paul explained.

11. But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
12. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
(NKJV)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. (Romans 1:16, NKJV)

The Gospel of the kingdom of God that was preached by Apostle Paul. . . . .

  • is not according to man
  • neither did he received it from man
  • nor taught to him by man,

But the gospel came through the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus he also aptly described as the "Gospel of Christ", the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.

The Teaching of Christ is the Doctrine of God

1E.3  Whose doctrine or teaching is the Gospel of the kingdom that was preached by the Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles?

In John 7:16, this is written:

Jesus answered them and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. (NKJV)

The Lord Jesus Christ made it clear that the Gospel is not His own doctrine or teaching but it is the doctrine of the One who sent Him. In John 17:1&3, it is the Father in heaven, the only true God, who sent Jesus Christ. Thus, the gospel of the kingdom is a doctrine of God.

1E.4   Why is the Gospel of the kingdom, a doctrine or teaching of God?

In Matthew 7:21, this is written:

"Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (NKJV)

The doctrine is of God because it is the will of the God, the Father in heaven, that must be followed to order enter the kingdom of God in heaven.

1E.5

Why should people heed God's call to listen to Christ's teachings?

In John 5:24, this is written:

In all truth I tell you, whoever listens to my words, and believes in the one who sent me, has eternal life; without being brought to judgment such a person has passed from death to life. (NJB)

The same verse in another version of the Bible:

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (NKJV)

Whoever listens to Christ's teachings and believes in the one who sent Him is assured of eternal life. He will be saved on the Day of Judgment, and has passed from death to life.
