Eternal Life is aptly called the Crown of Life. Eternal Life is endless life or existence in the Kingdom of God in heaven. Man will be given Eternal Life as he receives the outcome or result of his faith–the salvation of his soul on the day of Judgment. 

Eternal Life is a state of immortality. Transformation of man's mortal body to a glorious body will occur on the day of Judgment at the last trumpet. For this perishable body must put on imperishability, and this mortal body must put on immortality to make it fit for Eternal Life in heaven.  Let us continue our study of the scriptures so we may come to know the truth how Eternal Life is given.

Eternal Life is in Christ Jesus

1B.1   Did the Lord Jesus teach that eternal life is in Him?

In John 14:6, this is recorded:

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (NKJV)

Yes, Jesus Himself taught that eternal life is in Him, when he said that . . . . .

• "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (eternal). 

Why?
It is because no one can go to the Father in heaven except through the Lord Jesus Christ.

1B.2  Why is eternal life in Christ Jesus only?

In John 17:1-2, this is written:

1. When Jesus had said this, he raised his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you,
2. just as you gave him authority over all people, so that he may give eternal life to all you gave him.. (NAB)

Eternal Life is in Christ Jesus only because . . . . .

• it is only to Him that God, the Father gave authority over all people,

so that He (Jesus) may give eternal life to all that God will give to Him.

Eternal Life is a Gift of God through Jesus Christ

1B.3   What is the reason why Jesus may give eternal life to all that God will give to Him?

In Romans 6:23, this is written:

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)

It is because eternal life is the gift of God and He gives it through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thus, eternal life is from God the Father and He will give it as a gift to His people through the Lord Jesus Christ.

1B.4   According to the Bible, from whom and in whom is eternal life?

In 1 John 5:11-12, this is written:

11. And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12. So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life. (NLT)

This is what God has testified:

• That He (God) has given us eternal life
• and this eternal life is in His Son.
• whoever has the Son has life;
• whoever does not have the Son does not have life.

Thus, eternal life is from God and it is in His Son Jesus Christ; whoever does not have the Son does not have life.

The Son Jesus is the only way to God, because it is only through Him that man can go to the Father in heaven (John 14:6).  For it is only to Jesus that God the Father gave authority over all people, so that Jesus may give eternal life to all that God will give to Him (John 17:1-2). Thus, eternal life is from God the Father and He will give it as a gift to His people through the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23). Thus, Eternal Life is from God and it is in His Son Jesus Christ; whoever does not have the Son does not have life (1 John 5:11-12).
